100 day

100 Day Project

During the thick of the pandemic, I took on my first official 100 Day Project as an outlet for creativity and grounding. I love how Michael Bierut once said he’s amused when people credit him with inventing the idea: “Part of what makes it interesting is there’s nothing original about it. It’s what we do every day. We do routine things, and we do things that require acts of imagination.” (The Book of Alchemy).

Watercoloring 🎨

My first endeavor was watercolor—and I’ll show you the original 100, even though I kept going and ended up making over 200. It became such a natural part of my day that I stopped counting. The project began as a practice. Eventually, it became a rhythm.

AI dabbling ✨

I’ve been curious about AI for a while—co-authoring a series on crafting AI experiences with Dilip Jagadeesh (see below). This time, I’m treating AI not as a shortcut, but as a creative collaborator. I’ll be exploring its edges, making something new each day, and seeing what unfolds when you lean into experimentation.

Crafting AI Experiences

01—The resurgence of prompt interfaces in product design
02—Exploring the mechanics of AI
03—Design principles to consider when leveraging AI
04—How AI is shaping the future of product experiences across industries
05—UI Patterns to power your AI products
06—Leveraging AI as a collaborator throughout the UX process

This is my chance to keep exploring, experimenting, and making. Stay tuned—I'll be sharing a few composites along the way from what I learn. Stay tuned.

Week 1-2: Whimsical illustrations

My first endeavor is a children’s book called The road to Joytown.

Week 2-3: Short films about birds

Photographing 📷

My next 100 Day Project is 100 Days of Photography—a daily exploration of everyday joy, captured through the lens of my phone, the camera we all carry with us.
